You know this one ra. Think properly. ๐ธ
Hey youuuu,
I honestly don't know how to start this without sounding cheesy, so I've decided to accept my fate. For once, I'm going to let myself be cheesy, and you are not allowed to make fun of me for this. At least not until you've finished reading. ๐
I have so many things I want to tell you, and somehow, when I actually sit down to write them, I don't know where to begin.
But I think it all started with our talks.
Those nights when we would stay on call for hours, talking about random things, laughing, teasing each other, and sometimes just being there together. You know what? I genuinely started looking forward to those nights so much.
I'm someone who usually loves sleeping late, but honestly, the best part of those nights wasn't the sleep I was missing. It was you.
There were nights when I didn't even realise how late it had become because I was enjoying talking to you so much. And even after the call ended, I'd still be thinking about our conversations.
And do you know what's funny?
People have complained about me being unresponsive for years. ๐ I'm that person who doesn't reply to messages, doesn't check WhatsApp for an entire day, and somehow thinks that's completely normal.
But then you happened.
Suddenly, I was opening WhatsApp just to see if you'd messaged me. Checking my phone to see if there was a text from you. And somehow, replying to you never felt like a task.
Enti ra idi? Nenu WhatsApp open cheyyadam enti, messages check cheyyadam enti? ๐
I don't know what you did to me, but you somehow became the exception to a habit that everyone else had given up on changing.
And I think that's one of the first things I realised about you. I liked talking to you. I liked hearing about your day. I liked having you around, even when we weren't physically together.
And somewhere between all those conversations, you became someone I genuinely started missing when you weren't around.
I know I tease you, flirt with you, and make jokes about so many things. But there's something I really want you to know.
One of the biggest reasons I like you is the kind of person you are.
I genuinely admire how focused you are on your career. The way you take your work and your goals seriously, the way you have things you want to achieve, and the way you actually put effort into getting there. I find that really attractive.
You don't just talk about wanting to do things. You wake up at 4 AM, get your things done, and work towards what matters to you.
And coming from someone who considers waking up early a personal attack, the fact that you do all this so consistently is honestly impressive. ๐
You know how much I hate waking up early. I'm a proper night owl. If someone wakes me up early, my entire day is ruined.
But for you? We used to wake up at 4 AM and go out.
Nenu 4 ki levali ante normally naa valla kaadu. Kaani neetho bayataki vellali ante somehow lecheseyvadini. โค๏ธ
I think that says something about how much I enjoyed being around you.
But beyond all that, I really like how down to earth you are. You can be ambitious, focused, and serious about your future while still being so simple and genuine.
I like that about you. I like that you have your own goals, your own routine, and your own things going on. I like that you're someone who wants to build something for herself.
And I hope you never lose that part of yourself.
I also love how much you're on your own path of self-discovery, always trying to understand yourself better, figure out what you want, and grow into who you want to become. Honestly, just talking to you about these things motivates me so much. Nee tho matladithe, naaku kuda inspire avvali anipistundi. You're genuinely one of the biggest sources of motivation in my life right now, even when you don't realise it.
And I think that's part of why I'm drawn to you the way I am. Not just your ambition or your energy, but your character. Your kindness, your empathy, the way you actually notice things about people and care. That's what makes me feel truly seen and understood around you, not just liked.
I want to see you achieve all the things you're working towards. I want to be someone who celebrates your wins, listens when things don't go as planned, encourages you when you doubt yourself, and reminds you of how capable you are when you need it.
I don't just like you because of how you make me feel.
I like you for who you are, and I admire the person you're becoming.
And honestly, the more I get to know you, the more reasons I find to like you.
I still remember when I asked you to call me anna.
You were calling me "ra" even though I'm three years older than you, and I was there trying to establish some kind of seniority. ๐
Look at us now.
Anna ani pilavamani cheppina nenu ekkada, ippudu nee daggara ila padipoyina nenu ekkada. ๐ญ
I don't know why you made fun of me when we went bowling either. I know I was doing full overaction considering how terribly I was playing, but still, why were you making fun of me so much? ๐
Actually, maybe that's the thing.
I could be embarrassing myself, playing terribly, doing unnecessary overaction, and you would be there laughing at me. And instead of getting annoyed, I was enjoying it.
I like that we can be silly around each other. That not every moment has to be serious or perfect. That we can tease each other and laugh about the most random things.
I don't think I can explain exactly when it happened, but somewhere along the way, even your making fun of me became something I looked forward to.
Unfortunately for me, you have now been given permanent permission to bully me. Use it responsibly. ๐
Do you remember how we used to go to so many places?
Cafe Niloufer and the Malai Bun. That was genuinely one of my favourites.
All those random outings, the places we visited, the things we ate, and the times we spent together. At the time, they felt like ordinary days. Just us going somewhere, doing something, spending time together.
But now, when I think about them, I realise how much those little moments mean to me.
And I found that out properly when I was coming from Bachupally that day.
First, I remembered the badminton place where we played.
Then I passed D-Mart and remembered the day we went there.
Then I remembered you waiting for pani puri.
Then that road near our OYO/Airbnb came up, and obviously, more memories followed.
Then I remembered the day we went in the Suzuki.
One place after another, one memory after another.
Oka place chusthe oka memory gurthosthundi, inkoka place chusthe inkoti gurthosthundi.
And suddenly, I was missing everything.
It felt so sad to leave Hyderabad because all these places had become more than just places to me. They had become little reminders of us.
I never thought I'd look at random roads and shops and feel this way.
But apparently, when you spend enough time with someone special, even the most ordinary places start feeling different.
I think that's what you've done to Hyderabad for me. You've made so many ordinary places special.
And now, whenever I pass them, I don't just remember where I went. I remember being there with you.
I miss you feeding me masala dosa.
I miss you making me eat pappu annam.
I miss holding your hand in the car.
I miss cuddling you.
I miss being able to kiss you instead of having to tell you that I wish I could.
I miss pulling your cheeks and annoying you.
I miss your hugs.
I miss the little moments when we were together and neither of us really needed to do anything special.
And yes, I miss all those moments that I probably cannot write about in this letter without you laughing at me. ๐๐ซ
But you know what I miss the most?
The feeling of being around you.
Because when I'm with you, even doing absolutely nothing feels like something I want to do.
I could spend time with you, go somewhere random, eat something, sit in the car, talk about nonsense, or just hold your hand.
And somehow, I'd still want a little more time with you before leaving.
I really need to talk about this separately because I don't think you understand how unusual this was for me.
I'm the same person who hates waking up early. I'm the same person who loves staying up late and would happily sleep through the morning.
But we used to wake up at 4 AM just to go out together.
And I would do it again.
Not because I suddenly became a morning person. Please don't get any ideas. ๐
But because spending that time with you was worth it.
I think sometimes you realise how much someone matters to you through the smallest compromises you make without even thinking about them.
For me, it was waking up early, checking my phone more often, finding reasons to see you, and taking you from college to your home and then going back by auto myself.
And honestly, the pickup-and-drop service was probably the worst business model ever.
No profit. Additional travel expenses. Terrible return on investment.
All for one hug. ๐ญ๐
And would I do it again?
Absolutely.
Oka hug kosam antha chesevadini ante, nuvvu naaku entha special oo neeke ardham avvali. โค๏ธ
Because sometimes, the little bit of time I got to spend with you was enough to make the entire thing worth it.
I would like to formally register a complaint against dark chocolate.
It was supposed to be a perfectly innocent dessert.
Instead, it became a permanent part of our relationship history.
I can no longer look at dark chocolate the same way, and I think you should take at least 50% of the responsibility for this. ๐
But jokes aside, I love that we have these little memories that belong only to us.
Things that probably wouldn't mean much to anyone else, but make me smile because I know the story behind them.
And I hope we keep collecting more of these.
More inside jokes that nobody else understands.
More moments that make us laugh when we remember them.
More stories that begin with "Do you remember that one time..."
And hopefully, more chocolate. Although I think we should probably establish some guidelines this time.
I don't want you to think I like you only because of the chemistry we have, the kisses, the flirting, or all the butterflies.
Of course, I love those things. I love being close to you, holding your hand, cuddling you, and being able to kiss you.
But I also like the person I get to know when we're simply talking.
The girl who has her own ambitions.
The girl who wakes up at 4 AM and gets things done while I'm still negotiating with my alarm clock.
The girl who is down to earth.
The girl who can make me laugh, make fun of me, and somehow make me want to see her again even before I've left.
The girl who made an unresponsive person start checking WhatsApp.
The girl who made a night owl wake up at 4 AM.
The girl who made me travel for a hug and somehow made that seem like a perfectly reasonable decision.
And the girl who made me look at familiar roads and miss her all over again.
I like you because of all these things, and probably a hundred more that I haven't figured out how to explain yet.
I want to keep learning about you. I want to know what makes you happy, what worries you, what you're excited about, what you dream about, and what kind of future you want for yourself.
I want to be someone you can laugh with, talk to, rely on, and be completely yourself around.
I want to support your ambitions without getting in the way of them. I want us to encourage each other, grow together, and still have enough nonsense between us to keep things interesting.
I can't promise that every day will be perfect. But I can promise that I want to put effort into this, communicate with you, and keep choosing to show up for you.
Because what we have already means a lot to me.
And I want to see what more it could become.
We've already told each other that we love each other.
We've spent nights talking, gone on random adventures, made memories, laughed at each other, and done all these little things that have slowly made you such an important part of my life.
But I still want to ask you this properly.
Not over a random text.
Not in the middle of an ordinary conversation.
I wanted to write it down, put some effort into it, and give you something you can keep.
Because I want you to know that I'm not just enjoying the moments we're having right now.
I want to make more of them with you.
More dates. More Malai Buns at Niloufer. More pani puri stops. More random drives. More terrible bowling performances. More 4 AM adventures that I will continue to complain about despite agreeing to them. More nights talking until we forget what time it is. More hugs that make leaving difficult. More memories that turn random roads into places I'll always remember.
More of you. More of us.
And hopefully, someday, we'll look back at this letter and laugh at how cheesy I was.
But for now, I have one very important question.
I know we've already said "I love you" to each other, but I still wanted to ask you properly. I want to choose you, and I want us to choose each other.
If you say yes, I hope this is just the beginning of a really beautiful story.
Yours, hopefully officially,
Your favourite person (and your most expensive pickup-and-drop service). โค๏ธ
P.S. The chocolate is a gift. Any allegations against me regarding the chocolate incident will be handled by my legal team.
P.P.S. Please don't judge my handwriting. I travelled 200 km for this. The least you can do is give my handwriting a passing grade. ๐โค๏ธ
It's official! Wellโฆ officially official now.
Nuvvu yes cheppav. I'm smiling like an idiot right now.
I love you, Neha. Here's to more late-night calls, more 4 AM adventures, more food, more hugs, and a lot more of us.
